Florida dominated South Carolina in the Gators’ final home game of the 2022 season. Gator Country provides Florida’s official snap counts in week 11.
QUARTERBACK
73- Anthony Richardson
5- Jalen Kitna
2- Kyle Engel
Florida was able to get Jalen Kitna in the game for a handful of plays due to the blowout victory. Napier even sent walk-on QB Kyle Engel into the game, who’s been a part of Florida’s program for four years. Engel walked on senior day and was able to play his first snaps as a Florida Gator.
RUNNING BACK
50- Montell Johnson
23- Trevor Etienne
4- Nay’Quan Wright
3- Lorenzo Lingard
Montrell Johnson once again leads the Gators in carries followed by Trevor Etienne. Nay’Quan Wright and Lorenzo Lingard were able to play due to big lead.
WIDE RECEIVER
65- Caleb Douglas
54- Ricky Pearsall
39- Xzaiver Henderson
35- Marcus Burke
14- Kahleil Jackson
7- Trent Whittemore
4- Jordan Pouncey
3- Daejon Reynolds
1- Thai Chiaokhiao Bowman
True freshman Caleb Douglas led the receivers in snaps in week 11. Douglas’s blocking and route running will allow him to continue to see the field. Ricky Pearsall continues to be the every-down slot receiver. Xzaiver Henderson didn’t play as much as he usually does; he spent some time on the sidelines in big moments of the game.
Florida didn’t use Reynolds or Bowman as much as I thought they would. Napier went to walk-on Kahleil Jackson before either of them.
TIGHT END
49- Dante Zanders
42- Jonathan Odom
7- Noah Keeter
Odom saw an uptick in playing time in week 11 and performed well. I wouldn’t be surprised if Odom is leading the tight end unit in snaps to end the season.
OFFENSIVE LINE
73- Kingsley Eguakun
65- Ethan White
62- O’Cyrus Torrence
56- Michael Tarquin
51- Richard Gouraige
42- Austin Barber
20- Richie Leonard
8- Kamryn Waites
8- Jake Slaughter
7- Christian Williams
7- Jordan Herman
7- Will Harrod
Once again, the Gators are primarily rotating seven offensive linemen this season. Napier was able to get 12 offensive linemen into the game this Saturday; that’s critical because the backup unit hasn’t had many opportunities to get into the game this year.
DEFENSIVE LINE
29- Gervon Dexter
27- Princely Umanmielen
25- Antwuan Powell-Ryland
21- Chris McClellan
17- Desmond Watson
16- Justus Boone
16- Jalen Lee
15- Tyreak Sapp
10- David Reese
9- Chief Borders
8- Lloyd Summerall
6- Jack Pyburn
6- Jaelin Humphries
Florida got 13 different players into the front four on Saturday afternoon. The defense wasn’t on the field for many snaps and the Gators were able to rotate a ton of different players in. Chris McClellan jumped Desmon Watson in snaps this week; I’m a big fan of top four being the group the Gators go with moving forward.
LINEBACKERS
39- Ventrell Miller
26- Shemar James
25- Amari Burney
12- Derek Wingo
Shemar James edging out Amari Burney in snaps in something to note. Scooby Williams has not appeared in the last two games.
CORNERBACK
23- Jason Marshall
23- Jaydon Hill
21- Jadarrius Perkins
20- Jordan Young
15- Jalen Kimber
12- Tre’Vez Johnson
12- Avery Helm
9- Ethan Pouncey
Marshall and Hill continue to play the most snaps at cornerback. Jadarrius Perkins played significantly more snaps than Tre’Vez Johnson, which has not been the case this season.
SAFETY
34- Trey Dean
32- Rashad Torrence
26- Kamari Wilson
17- Miguel Mitchell
10- Donovan McMillon
Kamari Wilson played a significant number of snaps in week 11 and forced in a fumble in the process. Miguel Mitchell earned the start at the STAR position. McMillon lands 10 snaps as well.
There weren’t many snaps in this game to begin with, but Napier did a good job of rotating many different players into the game. I love to see the snap counts down as a result of a blowout victory, especially in week 11 of a long and physical football season.
Gator Country will continue to provide the official snap counts in the remaining two games of the season.
