Robinson likes the Florida Gators’ history with receivers

This past weekend, the Florida Gators hosted a prospect committed to an instate rival on an official visit.

Miami receiver commit Chance Robinson (6-2, 190, Fort Lauderdale, FL. St. Thomas Aquinas) was on campus and enjoyed his time with receivers coach Billy Gonzales.

“It was great, Andy Jean is a cool dude,” Robinson said on his official visit to Florida. “I love the way he is. It’s hard not to love Coach G, he came to see me twice during the spring and I wasn’t even playing, I was out. That means a lot to me. He has the statistics to his name to the people he has coached. It’s hard to say no to that.”

Robinson had a good relationship with former receivers coach Keary Colbert but Gonzales has built a solid one with the Miami commit in quick fashion.

“Just checking in with me every week,” he said on how Gonzales has built a relationship with him. “Making I’m sure good, just staying on top of me, making sure my hamstring is good, making sure I’m good. Calling about my family and telling me that I can be a difference maker here and that he sees the way I work and the determination I have. He’s just a difference maker, he’s a great dude.”

Miami receiver a commitment from Robinson in April but the receiver says he likes several things about the Gators including head coach Billy Napier.

“Just Coach Billy G and Coach Napier, they both check in with me,” he said on what he likes about Florida. “They both call me; they both text me. Just those two and the development of receivers under their name. This class is special, they have a quarterback that’s committed, I can come in and work hard together and make something special happen.”

After his official visit to Florida, Robinson says two schools have the best relationship with him.

“Here and Miami is where I could really see myself at,” Robinson said on if he has the best relationship with Florida outside of Miami. “If I’m being honest, yeah.”

Despite his commitment to Miami, Robinson says he will have to sit down and look at everything and make a final decision on his recruitment.

“It has definitely opened my mind up to a lot of new things and seeing new things,” he said on taking official visits. “I just really have to sit down and make a decision on where I’m going to truly play. I can say that Miami is a part of my home and this [Florida] could be home.”

Next up for Robinson will be an official visit to the Canes on June 23rd but the receiver plans to get back to Gainesville for another visit.

“I definitely want to come back, I have some good plans to come back,” Robinson said on returning to Florida for another visit. “Whenever I can.”
