QB Tramell Jones commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators picked up their 13th commitment of the Class of 2025 on Sunday afternoon following an official visit to Gainesville.

Quarterback Tramell Jones (6-0, 195, Jacksonville, FL. Mandarin) committed to Florida just days after leaving the Florida State class.

Jones decommitted from Florida State last week after being committed to the Noles for over a year but during that time, the Gators stayed in constant contact with the quarterback.

The Jacksonville native was a frequent visitor to Gainesville last spring and summer and is very close with Florida commit Vernell Trey Brown as the two played on the same 7-on-7 team.

Jones is ranked as one of the top quarterbacks in the country but has missed most of his senior year due to a leg injury but should be ready to go by the spring.

Picking up Jones is huge for Florida as the Gators needed to add a high school quarterback to the class with Graham Mertz graduating and the Gators already low on numbers at the position.

The addition of Jones is also huge for recruiting as the quarterback is close friends with Florida State offensive line commit Solomon Thomas as well as Jones’ teammate Texas receiver Jaime Ffrench who were both on campus this past weekend.
