Ojo has a “great” experience with the Florida Gators on Saturday

On Saturday, the Florida Gators hosted their annual Orange and Blue spring game and several top prospects were in town for it.

Offensive lineman Felix Ojo (6-6, 275, Mansfield, TX. Lake Ridge) was on campus for the first time on Saturday and enjoyed seeing everything.

“I would just say it’s great experience to come down to Florida,” Ojo said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I mean, first time ever in Florida so it’s a very beautiful place, I mean the campus is great, and the facilities are top tier. I liked really watching the spring game, seeing them get after it, it was a great experience and all.”

One of the highlights of the visit was the chance for Ojo to meet with head coach Billy Napier and see how he fits into the program in Gainesville.

“I really just say talking with Coach Napier,” he said on the highlight of the trip. “Seeing what he sees in me, seeing what he sees for me and me fitting inside the program and seeing how I fit in the offense at Florida. I say that’s really like the biggest highlight of the visit so far.”

After talking with Napier, Ojo says an official visit to Gainesville is possible and something he’s thinking about.

“We’re in the works of making an official visit happen,” Ojo said. “It depends because I do plan on committing sometime in the summer, so a fall official visit just depends.”

Offensive line coach John Decoster also met with Ojo during the visit and explained to him that early playing time available at Florida.

“His message is I’m a top priority for the Florida class,” he said on Decoster’s message to him. “I have a good chance coming here, competing for an early spot, competing here and playing here early. I say that’s like really the main message they’ve been sending is that I can really come here play as a true freshman and really ball out my first year.”

Heading into the visit, Ojo had a top eight that included Florida and he says his interest in the Gators grew on Saturday.

“I say they’re pretty high on my list of schools right now,” Ojo said on where Florida stands with him. “They most definitely have a chance to compete for a commitment from me.”
