On Thursday, the Florida Gators staff sent out a new offer to one of the best players in the state of Florida.
Receiver Aidan Mizell (6-2, 180, Orlando, FL. Boone) picked up an offer on Thursday after he talked to receivers coach Keary Colbert.
“Coach [Keary] Colbert],” Mizell said on the coach from Florida who offered him. “He just thinks that I’m a real good player, I have next-level speed and a good playmaker. He wanted to get me on campus before he offered but we haven’t been able to set that up, so he just wanted to get it over with.”
Both of Mizell’s parents ran track at Florida so the Gators were the team that the receiver grew up rooting for and he says this was a big offer to him.
“It’s a real big deal, Florida has been a good school over the years and an SEC school,” he said on what the offer means to him. “They play good competition, a New Year 6 bowl team. It means a lot to me.”
Colbert and Mizell plan to talk more football when the receiver makes it to Gainesville but so far, the conversations have been about getting to know each other.
“Not yet,” Mizell said if he and Colbert have talked about where he would fit into the offense. “We’ve been having normal conversations about my life and what I have going on and a little football. They think that I will fit into their system, but they haven’t gotten into their system yet.”
Mizell says his interest in Florida is up there but he admits that a lot of schools have his interest as he prepares to visit Gainesville later this month.
“In-state school, SEC school, it’s just the same as all of the other schools,” he said on his interest in Florida. “Nothing more, nothing less but I’m planning to visit them at the end of this month.”
