Lagway leads the Florida Gators past the Samford Bulldogs

The Florida Gators (1-1) defeated the Samford Bulldogs (0-2) 45-7 on Saturday night to get back in the win column.

Freshman quarterback DJ Lagway started the game and set a new Florida record for most passing yards in a game by a freshman.

The Gators’ defense created a turnover early in the game and pitched a shutout in the first half before giving up a touchdown in the third quarter.
