Kilgore likes the genuine approach from the Florida Gators’ staff

The state of Georgia is once again loaded with top prospects and on Saturday the Florida Gators hosted one of the top defensive backs from the state.

Safety Jalon Kilgore (6-2, 195, Estonton, GA. Putnam County) was on campus and liked the personalities of the coaching staff.

“It was nice,” Kilgore said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I got to meet Coach [Billy] Napier in person, he’s a real cool guy. He talked to me about all the stuff, and I met all the coaches, and they were telling me about Coach Napier and how he’s genuine. Same with Coach Patrick Toney. They were all cool.”

This coaching staff has put a lot of details into these visits and one thing, in particular, stood out to Kilgore during the visit.

“The highlights were they brought us to a meeting with Gator Made,” he said. “They were talking to us about the NIL deal and how much money we could make through the months and how to promote ourselves and invest.”

Defensive coordinator Patrick Toney spent a lot of time with Kilgore on Saturday and made sure to continue to build on their relationship.

“Coach Toney and Coach CJ,” Kilgore said on the coaches he was around the most. “They were really cool people, they showed me around and talked to me about building relationships. Everybody has facilities, all of the big schools have the facilities, but the main thing is building relationships.”

After the visit, Kilgore says the Gators are high on his list of schools and he believes the staff can develop him on and off the field.

“It’s definitely up there,” he said on his interest in Florida. “They’re a top tier school that I will consider going too because they can build my character even if I don’t go pro, I will become a great man.”

Next up for Kilgore will be a visit to an instate school and he hopes to return to Gainesville for another visit.

“I will definitely like to come for an official visit,” he said on visiting Florida again. “I will be at Georgia Tech next week.”
