Jamonta Waller commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators continued their recruiting avalanche on Monday night when they received a commitment from one of the best players in the country.

Defensive end/outside linebacker Jamonta Waller (6-2, 225, Picayune, MS. Memorial) committed to Florida over Auburn, Ole Miss, and Penn State on Monday night.

This past weekend Waller was on campus for his official visit and met with the coaching staff on how he would fit into Florida’s defense.

“That was great, of course, I want to know how they’re going to use me,” Waller said on watching film with the staff. “By seeing all of that it was pretty good. Just getting to the passer, getting off the edge, it’s a great fit. They do so much, on third down they can change it up at any time. I think I fit great.”

Waller now joins his good friend and fellow Mississippi native Kahnen Daniels as members of the class of 2024 for Florida.

“It’s great, he stays on me,” he said on his friendship with UF commit Kahnen Daniels. “He tells me to come home, he’s real and he’s going to make sure he’s going to push me.”

Waller is the 7th commitment in the last three days for Florida and the third of the day on Monday as offensive lineman Marcus Mascoll and defensive lineman Michai Boireau both committed to the Gators earlier on Monday.
