Billy Napier and his coaching staff have made it almost a daily event to host a number of top prospects on campus this month and that will continue this weekend.
The Gators will practice on Saturday and several prospects will be on campus to watch that practice, but several others will visit Gainesville on Friday and visit with the coaching staff.
GatorCountry brings you a look at what prospects are scheduled to be in Gainesville this weekend.
Hotbed recruiting tour stops in Gainesville
The Hotbed recruiting tour started on Thursday and on Friday they will stop in Orlando at UCF before making their way to Gainesville at lunch. The tour has several big-name prospects on it including quarterback Dante Moore who will make his first visit to Gainesville this weekend. Notre Dame seems to be the favorite for Moore, but the Gators will have their chance to impress him on Friday.
Receiver Jalen Brown is one of the top receivers in the country and will join the group in Gainesville on Friday. Florida State and Miami are the favorites for Brown, but Keary Colbert has been talking with the receiver a good bit as of late.
Defensive lineman Reuben Bain is another guy with a lot of offers on the tour and a guy that the Gators would like to make up ground on this weekend. Auburn and Miami are two schools talked about a lot with Bain.
Miami receiver commit Lamar Seymour and defensive tackle Caleb Bryant will also be on the tour on Friday. 2024 defensive back Antoine Jackson is also with these guys.
Several other top targets visiting on Friday
Headlining the group of visitors on Friday will be running back Richard Young who’s considered one of if not the best back in the country. Young has Florida on the outside looking in right now but Napier and his staff have gotten Young to visit and the running back is listening to Florida’s pitch.
Offensive linemen Monroe Freeling and Wilkin Formby are both planning to be in Gainesville Friday and Saturday as they both take their first visits to Gainesville. Freeling is a guy that Clemson and Notre Dame have felt good on but the lineman says he was excited to pick up an offer from Florida and is looking forward to meeting the staff.
Formby is a native of Tuscaloosa so the Crimson Tide will be a school to watch closely but the lineman has connected with offensive line coach Rob Sale a lot and the two will meet this weekend.
Offensive lineman Roderick Kearney has been a key target for offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton so far and the lineman will be in town for the first time this year on Friday. Florida State has been the team to beat for Kearney but the Gators are gaining ground for the lineman.
Defensive lineman TJ Searcy will be on campus for the first time on Friday and he has a connection with linebackers coach Mike Peterson from his days at South Carolina. Currently South Carolina seems to be the team that feels the most confident on Searcy.
Safety Joenel Aguero will be in town on Friday and Saturday, and he has connected with defensive coordinator Patrick Toney over the phone so far but on Friday will get the chance to watch film with the coordinator.
Highly touted DB’s visiting the Swamp
Corey Raymond and Toney will have their work cut out for them this weekend as they host four of the top defensive backs in the country this weekend.
Cornerback AJ Harris visited Gainesville in January, but he and his dad will return to town this weekend. Harris really likes the coaching staff and the Gators have flown up his leaderboard since the visit and the staff looks to continue that momentum on Saturday.
Cornerback Cormani McClain is scheduled to be in Gainesville on Saturday and Sunday with his mom as the Gators look to regain some momentum, they had with the Lake Gibson product earlier this year. McClain isn’t rushing a decision, but the Gators need to regain the momentum in his recruitment.
Cornerback Kayin Lee was once committed to Georgia but left their class in February and he has been in contact with several UF coaches so far. This will be the first chance for Lee to see the Gainesville campus.
Joining Lee this weekend will be his 7-on-7 teammate cornerback/athlete RJ Johnson who was re-offered by the staff this week.
Talented playmakers to visit
The offensive side of the ball will also be well represented on Saturday as those guys will get to watch practice as well.
Running back Cedric Baxter has been a priority for this staff since they arrived in Gainesville and Jabbar Juluke has been the main contact. Baxter was supposed to be in Athens on Saturday but decided to push that back so he could watch Juluke in person during practice.
Receivers Christian Hamilton and Daquayvious Sorey are also planning to be in town on Saturday. Sorey received a visit from Billy Napier in January and then decommitted from Georgia in February. Sorey is someone that the Gators have targeted as a big need in the class so far.
2024 quarterback DJ Lagway will make the trek from Texas on Saturday, and he’s considered one of the top guys in his class. Several big schools including Alabama have already offered the quarterback.
More defensive guys to visit
Defensive end AJ Hoffler picked up an offer from Florida last month when the Gators were on an offering spree in the state of Georgia. Hoffler quickly scheduled a visit to Gainesville after talking to Mike Peterson about the offer.
Defensive lineman Keldrick Faulk is a guy who has seen his recruitment blow up as of late and he has been visited several campuses so far. Patrick Toney is leading the charge for Faulk as the Gators try to beat out Alabama and Auburn for the lineman.
Linebacker CJ Allen is another guy who picked up an offer from Florida last month and he plans to visit on Saturday so he can meet linebackers coach Jay Bateman in person.
2024 linebacker Myles Graham is the son of former Gators running back Earnest Graham and he plans to visit on Saturday.
2024 athlete Fred Gaskin also plans to return to campus.
