The Florida Gators need depth on the defensive line in the 2023 recruiting class and on Saturday they hosted several of their targets at the position.
Defensive lineman Jordan Hall (6-4, 300, Jacksonville, FL. Westside) was on campus and enjoyed getting back to a game in the Swamp.
“It was really cool, just getting back in the environment,” Hall said of his visit to Florida. “Spending time with the recruiting staff and seeing everyone else. It was fun, it was a real nice time being back in Gainesville.”
The coaching staff have a message for Hall about how he’s one of the missing pieces for the Gators in this class.
“Really the vibe from them is they want to bring me here and finish off this class right,” he said on the message from the coaching staff. “They want a linebacker, defensive linemen, they have a couple of key pieces to finish off this class and make it one of the best in school history.”
Defensive line coach Sean Spencer and the rest of the coaching staff have kept in touch with Hall a lot and on Saturday the defensive lineman enjoyed being around everyone.
“I probably talk to them two to three times a week, they’re just checking in and seeing how I’m doing, not too much but not too little,” Hall said on his communication with the staff. “Just coming back down here and being a part of this atmosphere, it’s probably the best I’ve seen since coming to Florida. It’s wonderful to see, having all the other recruits trying to get me on board.”
While watching the game on Saturday, Hall noticed early playing time available at his position and he believes he could help the defense.
“Most definitely, knowing the way I play,” he said on if he sees a need on the defense for himself. “Third down situations are probably one of my best attributes, pass rushing and playing the run. Seeing how they play and how they react to things like that, I feel like I can fit and make an impact right away.”
Next up for Hall will be two official visits and he’s still in the process of planning one to Florida as he has three more visits to set up.
“Ohio State for the Michigan game and Alabama next week,” Hall said on official visits. “LSU is probably going to get one, I don’t know about any of the others, but Florida is probably still going to get one. I have my top four that I’m going to release next week. I want to do one in December because I’ve already been here for a game.”
The Gators are in the running for Hall for several reasons but the defensive tackle admits he sees the love the staff and the fans have for him.
“You see what happened in there, the coaching staff loves me, and I love the coaching staff,” he said on what he likes about Florida. “The fans know my name, a fraternity had my name written out there, they didn’t even say my name, they said big baby. The environment around here is great to be around. It’s a blessing.”
