Freshman receiver Dallas Wilson suffers lower left leg injury

Florida Gators freshman wide receiver Dallas Wilson suffered a lower left leg injury, multiple sources tell Gator Country. Wilson is currently in a hard cast below his knee. It’s expected that Wilson will be out for a couple of weeks.

Wilson, a 6’3, 216-pound wide receiver out of Tampa, Florida, has been a standout receiver throughout spring and fall camp. During Florida’s Orange and Blue Spring game, Wilson caught 10 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns. His 195 receiving yards tied and Orange and Blue game record.

“I think the toughness that he showed in practice, I’ve been impressed with his football intelligence, how he’s been able to retain information and obviously you don’t produce like that today unless you’re been really working hard, so he’s had a good offseason and when given opportunities today, I thought he took full advantage of it,” head coach Billy Napier said on Wilson. “So we’ve seen a lot of that in practice. Like I told you guys before, these rankings are a little more accurate than they’ve ever been and I’d say that’s what a Five-Star looks like.”

Wilson is expected to compete for a starting wide receiver position.
