The Gators are searching for one more receiver to join Joshua Moore and Vernell Brown as part of Florida’s 2025 wide receiver class. Four-star WR Naeshaun Montgomery has been trending towards Florida since his official visit in Gainesville on May 31st. The Miami Central High School product was in Gainesville on Thursday and returned on Saturday for Florida’s Grill in the Ville cookout.
“It was just a fun day. We did a lot of activities, and I really had a fun time with the coaches,” Montgomery said on the cookout.
The highlight of Montgomery’s trip was being around the team and watching true freshman QB DJ Lagway in action.
“Watching OTA’s and watching DJ [Lagway] spin the ball. He can really throw it,” Montgomery said on the highlight of his trip.
Montgomery has previously shared with Gator Country that he wants to play with a good quarterback at the next level. He got to establish a relationship with former five-star DJ Lagway this weekend.
“He’s a really cool dude,” Montgomery said on Lagway. “His mindset is really focused and he wants to get the job done.”
The 6’2, 185-pound speedy receiver released his top six on July 23rd, which consists of Florida, LSU, Penn State, Alabama, Oregon, and FSU. However, there’s two schools sticking out in Montgomery’s recruitment as of now.
“There’s really Florida and LSU,” Montgomery told Gator Country. “From the moment I got offered they still communicated and stuff like that. I feel like I can play at those two schools. I really see myself playing at all six but those are the leaders right now.”
Montgomery claimed that Florida is the school pushing the hardest for him since he released his top six.
“They’re all pushing hard but I feel like Florida has really turned it up a notch,” Montgomery said.
Montgomery told the media he knows which school he plans on pledging to ahead of his August 25th commitment date. Montgomery is unsure whether he will take any more visits, but nothing is planned as of now.
