Florida hiring former Arkansas OC Dan Enos in off-field analyst role

Florida is adding former Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos to their off-field analyst staff, Gator Country learned on Tuesday.

247Sports’ Jacob Rudner was first to report the anticipated hire.

Enos is a veteran coach that brings over 30 years of experience to Gainesville, five of which came in the SEC. His most recent stop was in Fayetteville, where Enos served as Arkansas’ offensive coordinator and play caller for eight games until he was relived from his duties after the Razorbacks lost a 7-3 game to Mississippi State.

Prior to his second stint with Arkansas, Enos served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Maryland, which is perhaps the most impressive coaching stint of his career. Enos’ offense generated numerous school records during his first season with the Maryland. The Terps set single-season program marks for total yards (5,740), passing yards (3,960), completions (339) and completion percentage (69.3%) in 2021 with QB Taulia Tagovailoa under center. In 2022, Enos’ offense ranked fourth in the Big Ten in total offense and scoring, averaging 401.2 yards per game and scoring 28.2 points per game. Tagovailoa posted back-to-back 3,000-yard passing seasons under Enos and was one of just three Big Ten QBs to reach that mark in 2022.

Enos spent the 2020 season at Cincinnati as the Bearcats’ associate head coach and running backs coach. Cincinnati went 9-1 during the Covid season, winning the American Athletic Conference title with Enos on staff. The Bearcats averaged 212.4 rushing yards and 37.5 points per game in 2020.

Enos spent the 2019 season with Miami (FL), serving as their offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Enos lasted just one season with the Hurricanes, being relieved from his duties after Miami was shutout in the Independence Bowl against Louisiana Tech.

“The University of Miami football program announced Friday that Dan Enos has been relieved of his duties as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach,” the team announced following the bowl game.

Enos also coached under legendary coach Nick Saban in 2018, serving as the Associate Head Coach / Quarterbacks Coach.
