The Florida Gators coaching staff will kick-off official visits on Friday when they host several top targets on campus.
Billy Napier and his staff have set up a busy next month with official visits from various top targets in the Class of 2026.
This period of time has turned into the biggest portion of the recruiting calendar as most of the top prospects have started making commitments during the summer months.
GatorCountry brings you a look at this weekend’s visitors list for the Gators.
Big targets on the offensive side of the ball to visit
The Gators are hunting for some top offensive linemen in this class, and on Friday, two of the top guys in the country will be on campus.
Offensive lineman Felix Ojo was on campus this spring, and that visit went extremely well, convincing the lineman to visit the Gators again this weekend. Texas is the early favorite for Ojo but Michigan and Ohio State are also squarely in the mix here. Florida needs a great visit to get in that group of schools, but the Gators are at least getting a shot.
Offensive lineman Ekene Ogboko announced on Tuesday that he would be in Gainesville this weekend after not having an official visit scheduled before. Georgia is the team to watch right now but Clemson and Notre Dame are also in the mix here.
Running back Carsyn Baker will make the trip down from Georgia on Friday. The Gators have their work cut out for them with Baker as Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State, and South Carolina are all ahead for Baker. Baker knows that the Gators want just one back this year and that intrigues him.
Receiver Calvin Russell is considered a top five receiver in the country and plans to make a decision in July. Florida trails Florida State, LSU, and Miami right now with Oregon also in the mix. Billy Gonzales has been the main recruiter for Russell so far and this weekend is a chance for him to get to know everyone else on the staff.
Top defensive targets to visit
Defensive end Luke Waffle was an addition to the visitors list earlier this week. Waffle visited UF this spring and was impressed by the Gators and Florida quickly entered the mix for him. Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas lead the group right now but Florida has a chance.
Defensive lineman Jamir Perez will make his way down from Cleveland this weekend. Perez picked up an offer from the Gators two weeks ago and now will make his first trip down to Florida.
Defensive back Chauncey Kennon will make the trip up from Sarasota on Friday for his visit. Kennon has been on campus several times already and he has a great relationship with Deron Wilson. Auburn, Florida State, and Miami are schools to watch.
