CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 8 Florida lacrosse team (6-2, 0-0 Big 12) looks to win its fourth consecutive game, as they will take on No. 15 Clemson (6-3, 2-2 ACC) on Thursday at 12 p.m. It is the first ever meeting between the two programs.
The Gators come into this matchup off a 22-9 victory at Mercer on Saturday. The Gators set season highs in goals, assists (10), points (32) and draw controls, led offensively by Clark Hamilton and Gianna Monaco who totaled five goals apiece. It was the first time two Gators have scored five or more goals in the same game since Emily Heller and Emma LoPinto did it on April 8, 2023 against Temple.
Outlook on the Tigers
Clemson comes into this matchup on a current three game losing streak, falling to No. 2 North Carolina 18-5 on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers feature three players with 20 or more goals, highlighted by Kayla Macleod (24 goals), Lindsey Marshall (23 goals) and Lexi Edmonds (21 goals). Defensively they are led by Summer Agostino who leads the team in ground balls (25) and caused turnovers (23).
Kira Balis leads the Tigers draw attack, corralling 84 draw controls good for 11th nationally with 9.33 draw controls per game. Clemson is coached by Allison Kwolek who is in her third season.
Hamilton Historic Hat-Trick Streak
Hamilton has recorded five consecutive hat-tricks, good for a new freshman hat-trick streak. The Powder Springs, Ga. native has three games this season with five goals and leads the Gators in both hat-tricks (6) and goals (26). She is coming off a career high seven points against Mercer.
