On Friday night, the Florida Gators hosted their annual Friday Night Lights event and several of the Gators’ top commits were on campus for the event.
Receiver commit Izaiah Williams (6-0, 172, Tampa, FL. Carrollwood Day) was on campus and he’s building a good relationship with his future position coach Billy Gonzales.
“He’s like my best friend,” Williams said of his relationship with Billy Gonzales. “I can really just come to him about anything and that’s something special about a relationship. We’re building a stronger relationship, but we have a tight bond. I love the man and I just can’t wait to be mentored by him when I get here.”
Gonzales has gone over film with Williams and broke down his game with him and explained to him just where he sees the receiver playing at in Gainesville.
“I believe I’ll play more slot,” he said on where Gonzales wants him to play. “I’m a really versatile player so I can play anything, but I think I’ll mainly be in the slot.”
Now that Williams’ is in the class and solid with the Gators, he’s starting to recruit others to join him in the Class of 2024 Florida.
“I’ve been reaching out to a lot of people,” Williams said on recruiting others. “I’ve just been reaching out to a lot of people on Instagram about coming to Florida. Just talking to them and stuff.”
