Safety Focus:
The safety and health for our student-athletes, staff and guests is our highest priority. In consultation with UF Health officials and while following COVID-19 safety protocols established by the SEC Medical Guidance Task Force and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the following is in place for the 2021 Gator gymnastics home campaign:
* Limited physically-distanced capacity in Exactech Arena (approximately 2,200)
* Tickets sold in sets of 2 or 4 to allow for proper physical distancing.

The Gators’ Last Meet:
The Gators held off an upset attempt at No. 8 Arkansas, closing the meet with the nation’s No. 2 balance beam total of 2021 (49.425) to seal a 197.425 – 197.25 win. UF now has the nation’s No. 1 (197.50) and No. 3 (197.425) totals of 2021.
Florida claimed at least a share of every event title. Trinity Thomas’ nearly perfect bars routine (9.975) was the high individual mark of the evening. Savanah Schoenherr set her collegiate vault best (9.95) for her first vault win since 2019. Fellow junior Nya Reed claimed her second consecutive floor exercise title, sharing the win with Arkansas’ Bailey Lovett. Senior Megan Skaggs made her first all-around appearance since the 2019 NCAA Regionals, winning both balance beam (9.95 – collegiate best) and all-around (39.50).
Florida’s registered a 197.25 or better through its first three meets for the second time in program history (first: 2019). Only four schools – UCLA (2019), Florida (2019 & 2021), LSU (2017) and Oklahoma (2017, 2018 & 2020) have scored 197.25 through its opening three meets.

Schoenherr picked up her first SEC Event Specialist honor after winning vault with the league’s high vault mark of the weekend (9.95). She also turned in her season best on bars (9.85).
Skaggs takes the SEC Gymnast of the Week award after posting her first collegiate all-around win. She also equaled her collegiate beam best of 9.95 to take third career win on the event and first since 2019 SEC Championships.
About the Missouri Tigers:
No. 24 Missouri looks for its first SEC win of 2021 Friday. Florida is Missouri’s fourth consecutive top-12 opponent, falling at No. 10 Georgia (196.15-194.25), No. 4 Alabama (195.775 – 195.75) and No. 12 Kentucky (195.775 – 195.35).
Two Tigers have competed as all-arounders this season – Amaya Marshall (2021 best 39.20) Sienna Schreiber (2021 best 39.25). In MU’s last meet, Schreiber won balance beam (9.875) and shared the uneven bars title (9.825). Her season best all-around (39.25) took second versus Kentucky. SEC Event Specialist of 2020, sophomore Helen Hu, is out for 2021 with an injury.
