The coaching staff just finished a busy portion of the calendar as the Florida Gators had spring practice and the staff was hosting prospects daily.
Now that spring football is over, the Gators can now focus on recruiting as they will host prospects on campus for unofficial visits before official visits start in May.
GatorCountry brings you a look at five prospects that the Gators are in good shape for heading into official visits.
These prospects are in no order but just five prospects to watch.
Offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr (6-4, 325, IMG Academy)- Carr has been on campus a lot since he was a freshman in Ocala. Carr has always spoken highly of the Gators and the two offensive line coaching system. The Gators have also been pushing early playing time with Carr and the ability to play in front of his family. Tennessee is the team that the Gators seem to be battling the most heading into official visits.
Tight end Kekus Aumua (6-5, 255, IMG Academy)- Aumua visited Gainesville twice this spring including the spring game and he has built a relationship with the Russ Callaway. Callaway has explained to Aumua that the Gators’ can use him in several different ways and that’s intriguing to the tight end. Florida will host Aumua on an official visit this summer and BYU, North Carolina and Washington are also supposed to get visits.
Defensive lineman Valdin Sone (6-3, 320, Dyke, VA. Blue Ridge) is another guy that has been to campus a lot over the last year and he has spoken highly of his time in Gainesville. Sone liked the Gators’ recent success with international players and has built a good relationship with the coaching staff. Sone has official visits scheduled to Florida, Nebraska and Oklahoma but the Gators are the team to watch heading into those visits.
Linebacker Malik Morris (6-1, 225, Lakeland, FL. High)- Morris has been to Gainesville more than any other school in his recruitment. Morris has already developed a great relationship with linebackers coach Robert Bala and his relationship with Napier is strong as well. Morris is one of the top linebackers in the country and Florida is sitting in good shape heading into official visits. Miami and Texas A&M are also in the mix and the Aggies hosted Morris on campus last weekend. Florida will also get his last official visit of the summer.
Defensive back CJ Hester (6-1, 185, Cocoa, FL. High)- Hester was on campus three times this spring and he spoke highly of the coaching staff including new defensive backs coach Deron Wilson. Hester will take visits to Auburn, Florida, Iowa, and Syracuse this summer but the Gators are the team to beat heading into those visits.
