The Florida Gators recruiting class of 2018 picked up its eighth commitment of the class on Tuesday afternoon.
Offensive lineman Curtis Dunlap (6-4, 368, Bradenton, FL. IMG) committed to Florida over Oklahoma, Georgia, Miami among others.
Dunlap had a great showing out in Oregon at the Nike Opening Regional event earlier this month and that performance alone got many coaches calling the offensive lineman.
The Jacksonville native grew up rooting for the Florida Gators and called his Florida offer a dream offer when he picked it up in January of 2016.
“Growing up in Florida, the Florida Gators were always the home team,” Dunlap said of his offer from Florida. “Florida always had a certain swag to them that I liked and that’s something I’m looking for.”
Dunlap, who transferred to IMG Academy last year, mainly plays guard in high school and most teams see him as that in college depending on his weight once he gets into a college weight room.
The IMG product is the first offensive line commit in this class but the state of Florida has several big targets and many of them will be in town for Friday Night Lights.
Dunlap is also the first recruit to commit to new offensive line coach Brad Davis who has been talked about as a solid recruiter who brings a lot of energy to the table.
