Defensive lineman Michai Boireau commits to Florida over Georgia

The Florida Gators picked up their fifth commitment in the last three days on Monday when an out of state defensive lineman picked the Gators.

Defensive lineman Michai Boireau (6-5, 390, Hampton, GA. Creekside) committed to Florida over Georgia and others on Monday.

“1000% committed!!! Gator Nation I’m home,” Boireau tweeted.

Boireau visited Gainesville two weekends ago and was blown away by the visit and the people in Gainesville.

“I came in here, what I thought I was going to see, this was way better,” Boireau said of his visit to Florida. “I had a great experience, everybody felt real and genuine. I just had a great time.”

The defensive lineman was also impressed by the plan that defensive line coach Sean Spencer had for him on defense.

“A lot of colleges will say I’m just a nose but Coach Spencer he made everything seem genuine,” Boireau said on the message from Spencer. “He wants to use me at not just at nose but 3-technique too. He wants to move me around to a 2i too. I’m very high on versatility, I feel like I’m not just a nose.”

Boireau gives the Gators a big boost on the defensive line as the Gators are in need of inside talent as the depth at the position is something they wanted to address in the Class of 2024.

Now that Boireau has committed, he’s the 14th commit in the class and joins defensive linemen Amaris Williams and Nasir Johnson in the class on the defensive line.
