The Florida Gators hosted their final official visits for the summer this past weekend and they hosted a prospect who plans to make a college decision on Monday.
Offensive lineman Tyler Chukuyem (6-6, 290, Douglasville, GA. Paulding County) was on campus and enjoyed getting to see what the Gators had to offer.
“It was good,” Chukuyem said of his visit to Florida. “It was very informative about all the education parts, the school itself and the coaches. It was a good week. I wouldn’t say anything surprised me, but it was just different information.”
One of the highlights for Chukuyem was getting to see the education side of things as academics are big to him and his family.
“Well for me personally, the food, I love the food,” he said on the highlights of the visit. “That was a good highlight but then learning about the education because they’re like a highly ranked public school that was very informative. Then just knowing how they run their operation here with football and whatnot. That was also very informative.”
Chukuyem knows what he wants to study once he gets to college, and he likes that the Gators have a nice program for his major.
“They have a new little field coming up for what I’m trying to study,” Chukuyem said on what stood out to him about the academics. “I’m trying to study data analytics and they have like an education program for it here. That carries a lot of weight because education is like number one priority for me and my family.
Next up for Chukuyem will be a commitment as the lineman is down to Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, and Ole Miss and he hopes to finalize a decision soon.
“Yes,” he said when asked if he plans to still make a commitment on Monday. ““Everything is all neutral right now, tomorrow, or later today [Sunday] is when I’m going to narrow it down decide where I’m going.”
Over the next few hours, Chukuyem knows what he will be looking at, so he can make that decision on Monday.
“I’m just going to evaluate everything from every school that I went to and make my final decision,” Chukuyem said on what will help him make the decision. “All the factors that I named, school, education, is going be very important and the coaching staff is going be very important. Just the overall culture of the school.”
