The Florida Gators picked up their fifth commitment of the Class of 2026 on Sunday when an instate prospect committed to Florida.
Offensive lineman Chancellor Campbell (6-8, 306, St. Petersburg, FL. Lakewood) committed to Florida over Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Penn State and others after officially visiting Florida.
“I committed to the University of Florida,” Campbell said. “I’m going to work hard and I’m coming to take someone’s spot.”
Campbell said he knew he was going to commit to Florida during his official visit this weekend while he was with his coaches.
“It was probably when I met up with all the coaches,” he said on when he knew. “Probably when I was at dinner and Coach Napier sat down and he drove me from the hotel to the dinner at the O’Connell Center and that was great. You know, the head coach is driving you everywhere and talking to you, so they must want you bad. I wanted to come here from the start, but I just had to get some confirmation and make sure of it.”
Heading into the weekend, Campbell had a pretty good idea of where the Gators stood with him as they’ve been recruiting him the longest.
“You know, it was kind of like why not Florida,” Campbell said. “They’ve always been talking to me, keeping track on me, like always messaging me, calling me, facetime, pretty much every day. It’s been that way for two years now, since the start of my sophomore year.”
Campbell joins offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr, who committed to the Gators last weekend, and quarterback Will Griffin. Defensive lineman Jamir Perez is also committed to the Gators but took an official visit to Ohio State this past weekend.
