Burroughs has the Florida Gators out in front early on

The Florida Gators landed an impressive receiver class during the Class of 2025, and they’ve already turned their attention to the 2026 class at the position.

2026 receiver Naeeem Burroughs (5-11, 160, Jacksonville, FL. Bolles) is one of those guys that talks to Florida a lot and he likes the offense.

“They’re just being really consistent, checking in and checking in with my family,” Burroughs said on what Florida is doing in his recruitment. “They talk to my mom; I’ve been looking at the program and I can see myself there in that type of offense.”

Burroughs isn’t ready to make a decision as he wants to take more visits, but he says one school is out in front early.

“I would say Florida, because Florida was my first offer,” he said on if anyone is out in front out of his top six. “They’ve been there consistently, Coach [Billy] Gonzales is a great coach and Coach Napier has never stopped showing love.”

One of the reasons the Gators have the early edge is because of the coaching staff in Gainesville.

“They have great energy, it’s hard to be down around them,” Burroughs said on what he likes about the coaching staff at Florida. “They kind of lift you every time you’re around them.”

Before Burroughs gets to official visits, he knows of two schools he wants to visit this winter.

“I have to get to Notre Dame and Texas before I get to official visits,” he said. “I haven’t planned anything yet. I have to talk to my coaches and parents.”

Heading into those visits, Burroughs says he has a top six but admits other schools could get in the mix if they turn up the heat on him.

“Florida, Notre Dame, Texas, Clemson, Wisconsin and Florida State,” Burroughs said on his top six. “Others can definitely make a move.”

When it’s time to make a decision, Burroughs says he knows what he wants out of his future school.

“Scheme on offense, I don’t want to go a run-heavy school,” he said on what he’s looking for. “Energy from the coaches, you can be real close with the receiver coach but the head coach doesn’t really show he wants you there so I want to see that from the head coach.”
