Bett to transfer to the Florida Gators from Baylor

The Florida Gators picked up a big commitment on Saturday from the transfer portal after hosting this prospect on campus on Saturday.

Baylor defensive tackle transfer Brendan Bett (6-5, 300, Killeen, TX.) committed to Florida on Saturday,  after his official visit to Gainesville.

Bett was recruited by defensive line coach Gerald Chatman and defensive coordinator Ron Roberts out of high school so the familiarity helped the Gators here.

The Gators like Bett’s ability to play all over the defensive line and that he can play all downs for the defense.

Adding Bett was a huge need after the Gators lost defensive lineman D’Antre Robinson to North Carolina earlier in the week.

Bett has three years of eligibility remaining after he redshirted in 2024 after he had a strong 2023 freshman season.

During his freshman season, Bett graded out as the fourth-highest rated interior defensive lineman among freshman according to PFF.

Bett accounted for nine tackles, one sack, and two pass deflections during his freshman season at Baylor.
