Bergeron hired as offensive analyst

Billy Napier has announced the hiring of Matt Bergeron as an offensive analyst who will work with the wide receivers.

The Mandeville, Louisiana, native played quarterback at Southern Miss from 2013-16.

He began his coaching career at Arizona State in 2016 and 2017, where he worked with the receivers as a graduate assistant and quality control coach.

Bergeron joined Napier’s Louisiana staff as a graduate assistant in 2018. He worked with the quarterbacks in 2018 and the receivers in 2019.

Napier promoted him to an analyst role prior to the 2020 season. He worked with the receivers in 2020 and with the tight ends in 2021.

During his time with the Ragin’ Cajuns, Bergeron helped the program win four consecutive Sun Belt West division titles, a share of the conference championship in 2020 and the outright 2021 conference championship.
