Abrams has an “eye opening” visit to Florida

This past weekend, Gainesville was filled with official visitors on campus including a prospect committed to the Florida Gators archrival.

Florida State receiver commit Tawaski Abrams (5-11, 175, Fort Myers, FL. Dunbar) was on campus and the Gators showed him what kind of program they have.

“Just a regular official visit, just seeing everything and stuff,” Abrams said on his official visit to Florida. “Trying to figure out if Florida State is really the right deal for me and it opened my eyes to more stuff, like Florida is a real good program and I can see myself here.”

Abrams was able to see just how the Gators can help him after football is over and also how they keep him on the field with their dedication to recovery.

“Just like the connections around the world they have,” he said on what opened his eyes about Florida. “Just seeing the job opportunities outside of football, getting to see the players how they communicate with the coaches. Just like the facility itself from recovery to actually playing being on the field.”

Receivers coach Billy Gonzales and head coach Billy Napier explained to Abrams just how they could get him on the field early because of his speed.

“They could see myself on the field early because I’m going to be a December graduate,” Abrams said on how Florida plans to use him. “Getting to training camp, I will be accustomed to the playbook so it will be easier for me during the season.”

Next up for Abrams will be a trip to the school he’s committed to after he has visited two other schools recently.

“I just visited Texas A&M last week, this week was Florida, and now I’ll visit Florida State,” he said on visits. “That will probably be it, that’s the top three that I will be taking visits too.”

Heading into his trip to Tallahassee next weekend, Abrams says he’s still committed to the Noles but also says the Gators and Aggies have made a move for him.

“I like Florida State, but this opened my eyes to more things and I just have to see, “Abrams said on his commitment status to Florida State. “I probably say I’m a good 75 percent committed.”
