2026 DB Jaelen Waters enjoys his game-day experience

The Gators hosted a total of two defensive back commits from the 2025 class and two more from the 2026 class on Saturday during Florida’s matchup against the Miami Hurricanes.

Despite the loss, 2026 cornerback Jaelen Waters enjoyed his visit and made it clear that his feelings haven’t changed when it comes to his commitment to the Gators. The Florida native stands at 6-2, 170 pounds and is a four-star prospect that holds a total of 28 offers, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

“My feelings remain the same, it’s just football at the end of the day. You win some you lose some,” Waters said.

The Armwood defensive back got to speak with coaches prior to the game and enjoyed his visit overall.

“I wish Florida came out on top but it was still a good experience,” Waters said on his visit. “I spoke with Coach Will Harris and Coach Larry. They were basically just asking me if I’m ready to suit up, just in a perspective on if I’m ready for the game.”

The cornerback from Seffner, Florida recorded 20 total tackles, 2.5 T/G and 1 TFL in eight games played last season at Armwood High School. Waters committed to the Gators back in June and makes up a 2026 class that includes quarterback Will Griffin and defensive back Devin Jackson.
