Florida Gators junior cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III became the first unanimous First Team All-American since Joe Haden in 2009.
On Wednesday the American Football Coaches Association named Hargreaves a First Team All-American. It was the fifth and final team that Hargreaves needed to make to be recognized by the NCAA and their consensus All-America team.
A junior from Tampa, Hargreaves was named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Associated Press, Football Writer’s Associating of America, and The Sporting News earlier this week.
Hargreaves has already announced his intentions to leave school early and like Florida’s last unanimous First Team All-American, Joe Haden, Hargreaves will likely be a high pick in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft.
Entering the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl, which will be his final game in Orange and Blue, Hargreaves has 32 pass breakups and 10 career interceptions with four of each coming this season.
Stud!! It’s been amazing watching him play in the O&B for the last three years. Congrats to VH3!!
