We continue to tally which staff member correctly picks the most games each week. After week seven Seth is leading the pack and pulling away from the pack.
Nick de la Torre
I’m picking UCF to beat Teddy Bridgewater, the Gators to take down Mizzou and keep their chances of reaching Atlanta alive, and pretty much chalk the rest of the way. I wanted to take Clemson over FSU but I’m a coward.
David “PD” Parker
UNC over Miami – I have no reason to make this pick except that Miami is the worst undefeated team in the nation and those types usually trip up for no apparent reason versus lesser competition.
SC over UT – Carolina is rounding back into form and so will UT this Saturday (which is bad for UT).
OU over KU – Sooners are going to take all of the Red River Shootout frustration out on Weis & Co.
LSU over Ole Miss – Tigers will be down after being so up for UF, however, so will Ole Miss after being so up for A&M. And LSU is much better than Mississippi.
Clemson over FSU – Home field tips this one like it did last year for FSU.
Andrew Spivey
I finally got back into contention but it’s time for Seth to lose some ball games this week. This week is pretty simple with the exception of Florida State’s game which I’m going with the Noles. I almost picked Ole Miss in an upset but just couldn’t pull the trigger. I do, however, see the Canes falling on Thursday.
Daniel “DK” Thompson
Only three losses last week had me tied for first in the league. I plan on continuing that this week, in fact, I plan on BEATING that, but I have to be careful because I am only one loss out of last place, but only one net win from fourth place.
I’m somewhat uncertain on my UCLA over Stanford pick, but I believe Utah exposed Stanford and UCLA will capitalize on that. I know that Baylor will score more than 50 points. I’m very sure Clemson will beat FSU, although most would probably disagree. Finally, I am confident that UGA will bounce back and beat Vanderbilt.
I think that UF will beat Missouri by 14 points. With a new quarterback and mediocre defense, I think Florida’s defense will again hold their SEC opponent to less than 20 points and I trust that Florida will bounce back on offense.
Seth Puglio
I think UCF will hang tough with Louisville but the home-field advantage will give the Cardinals enough to pull out the win in what should be a great quarterback battle. Vanderbilt looks to be on a bit of a tailspin and I don’t think they’ll regroup to take down the Dawgs for a second consecutive week. Two great games this weekend in Palo Alto and Clemson. I think the Cardinals and Tigers both pull away in the fourth quarter at home.
Richard Johnson
Biggest game of the week, and one team has Jameis Winston on it. I’ll be going with that team. Seminoles win in Death Valley on the arm of Jameis Winston. FSU hasn’t played a good schedule but in those games, Winston has done what you’re supposed to do, he’s dominated and he’s looked very good. I think FSU’s defense is slightly better even though Clemson has the best pure football player on the field in Sammy Watkins. I don’t think Winston gets rattled by the intimidating crowd and looks just as mature as he has all season.
David Shepard
If the Nole defense gets off to their slow start they may be buried before the offense can get out of the blocks. I believe and hope the Tigers will cruise to a 14-17 point victory. Gators will win in their usual fashion by establishing the run, Kelvin Taylor will have a 100 yard game and be the starter from here out.
2-2! Getting back in this thing!
