On Friday the Gators coaching staff hosted several top prospects including to defensive ends named Lorenzo.
One of those prospects was Greensboro (N.C.) Page defensive end Lorenzo Featherston who enjoyed his time but isn’t a very talkative guy.
“It’s a new experience, it’s different,” Featherston said. “The campus is great, the coaches are nice, it’s been good,”
Defensive line coach Brad Lawing has been the main recruiter of the 6-foot-7, 215-pound Featherston this whole time and he tells Featherston about his coaching experience a lot.
“He talks about it all the time,” Featherston said. “He’s real serious, real cool, seems like a good guy.”
Featherston has been on a little road trip lately visiting schools including stops to Tallahassee and Tennessee and according to Featherston, Florida topped them.
“I guess they did more here than they did at Tennessee to welcome me,” Featherston said.
Right now Featherston isn’t ready to name any favorites but did say a return trip to Florida for an official was likely.
