FLUSHING, N.Y. – Florida senior Alexandre Lacroix was victorious in his Round of 16 and quarterfinal singles matches on Day Two of the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships.
Lacroix defeated third-ranked and reigning NCAA singles champion Bradley Klahn of Stanford, 6-2, 6-2, to earn a berth in the quarterfinals. Then the ninth-ranked Frenchman topped Texas Tech’s Gonzalo Escobar, 6-3, 6-3, to reach his first semifinal in a national tournament.
Lacroix will face SEC rival, No. 21-ranked Rhyne Williams of Tennessee, at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
