After moving up a spot in both the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches’ Poll on Sunday afternoon, the Florida Gators moved up two spots in the BCS Standings.
Florida comes in at No. 4 in the latest standings that were announced Sunday evening on ESPN. Notre Dame is No. 1 followed by Alabama at No. 2 and Georgia at No. 3.
Florida moved ahead of Oregon, which was No. 1 a week ago. It’s the third week in a row there has been a new No. 1 team.
The Gators are 10-1 overall after beating Jacksonville State 23-0 on Saturday. They wrap up the 2012 regular season at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Florida State, which is No. 10 in the standings.
Florida peaked at No. 2 in the BCS Standings before a 17-9 loss against Georgia in Jacksonville on Oct. 27. Florida is No. 6 in the AP Top 25 and coaches’ poll.
Half of the top-12 teams are from the SEC with Alabama at No. 2, Georgia at No. 3, Florida at No. 4, LSU at No. 7, Texas A&M at No. 9 and South Carolina at No. 12.
