Last weekend, the Florida Gators hosted over 100 prospects on campus for the Florida Gators big win over Ole Miss in the Swamp.
2028 quarterback Hudson West (6-4, 185, Sarasota, FL. High) was on campus and he called it a “unforgettable experience” in the Swamp.
“That was awesome, I’d say it’s probably one of the best I’ve been to,” West said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “I mean 52 points on Ole Miss, that was an awesome game, loved the offense. It was just amazing, it was a great experience.”
West is a big fan of offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner and what he has done for the Gators’ offense this year.
“I think he’s a mastermind,” he said of Buster Faulkner. “I mean you go on Twitter and you see these guys that watch a bunch of football, and you see those guys and every week those guys are posting Buster Faulkner doing something new. He’s a genius, a football guru.”
Faulkner and West have built a solid relationship, and they talked on Saturday but for the quarterback he was more impressed by watching the assistant coach in action.
“Yeah, I mean we talk all the time,” West said of his conversation with Faulker. “It’s just cool and again watching it is cool to see. It’s not necessarily talking to him but just seeing it happen. I got to talk to him in the locker room and before the game.”
Heading into the visit, West liked Florida a lot, but he says the Gators’ helped themselves with the gameday visit.
“It moved them up, I love Florida,” he said on where Florida stands for him. “It just made me think a lot more about Florida, it was just cool to get back up here and continue these relationships.”
West plans to be back in the Swamp again this fall but he isn’t sure when and he also isn’t sure when a commitment may happen.
“I have no clue,” he said on when he wants to announce a commitment. “It could be next week, it could be three months, I couldn’t tell you. I mean when the time is right, it’s going to be right. I just couldn’t tell you when.”
