PFF grades Florida’s team, individual performances vs. FAU

For the last few years, Gator Country has used Pro Football Focus’ grading system in our reporting. PFF provides a different look at how a player or team performs beyond the traditional box score, grading every player on every play based on his performance relative to expectations.

Here’s how PFF assessed Florida’s 66-21 Week 1 win over FAU.

This tells a pretty clear story. Florida was good to great in nearly every area but pressuring the quarterback, where the Gators graded 85th in the country. Florida missed nine tackles in the contest, which is very good considering the Gators played 91 defensive snaps in their Week 1 game. That’s a team missed-tackle rate of less than 10%.

Florida graded inside the top 40 in 11 of 12 categories and in the top 25 in nine of 12.
