Florida Gators center Harrison Moore was one of 40 players named to the 2026 preseason Rimington Trophy watch list, an award presented annually to the nation’s top center.
A junior transfer from Georgia Tech, Moore helped anchor an offensive line that finished third in the FBS and first in the ACC with just nine sacks allowed during the 2025 season. The Yellow Jackets also finished with the nation’s 21st-ranked rushing offense, averaging nearly 200 yards per game. Moore started nine games last season, logging 427 snaps at center and 254 at left guard.
As a true freshman in 2024, he appeared in 10 games with one start, primarily at left guard. The 6-foot-4, 293-pound offensive lineman has not allowed a sack across 405 career pass-blocking snaps.
Moore followed his offensive coordinator, Buster Faulkner, to Gainesville.
“It was fortunate that it worked out for the Gators. Harrison Moore is one of the toughest guys I’ve, you know, ever had a chance to coach,” Faulkner said on Moore. “You know, last two years, he played a lot for us as a freshman. I think he’s now getting comfortable in his own skin. He’s, you know, when we first signed him, he was 265 pounds, so he’s still putting on weight. He’s much stronger than he was. He’s starting to become a leader, a lot more vocal, and that’s very important for what we ask the center to do in this offense.”
Those work ethic and leadership abilities draw comparisons to Florida’s two-time All-American center Jake Slaughter, who was selected in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
“From the things that I’ve been told, they are very similar,” Faulkner said. “You ask a lot of guys around this building, that’s a high compliment. Jake Slaughter was very well thought of amongst his teammates, and you know, Harrison’s only been here seven months, and he’s still working to gain that kind of respect, and he’ll do that.”
The Southlake, Texas, native has big shoes to fill in his first season at Florida replacing Slaughter, but the buzz surrounding the junior continues to grow.
Florida not only needs improved play up front but also a mentality shift in the trenches. Moore should help provide that. His experience, toughness, and leadership will be critical for an inexperienced offensive line looking to take a significant step forward in 2026.
