With MLB at the All-Star break, it’s time to check in on how the former Gators are performing in 2026. Florida had a nation-leading 12 players on Opening Day rosters, while 16 total former Gators have made appearances in the big leagues this year.
RHP Franco Aleman – Cleveland Guardians
Since making his MLB debut on May 10, Franco Aleman has appeared in seven games out of the Guardians bullpen, posting a 1.13 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP across eight innings. He has struck out five batters while walking two.
1B Pete Alonso – Baltimore Orioles
After seven seasons with the New York Mets, Pete Alonso signed a five-year, $155 million contract with the Baltimore Orioles in free agency. In his first season with Baltimore, Alonso is hitting .252 with 21 home runs, 17 doubles and 65 RBI while posting a .346 on-base percentage and .474 slugging percentage. Despite ranking fourth in the American League in RBI and 12th in slugging percentage, he was not selected to the All-Star Game.
OF Harrison Bader – San Francisco Giants
Harrison Bader has posted a .170/.198/.358 slash line in 106 at-bats this season. The 10-year MLB veteran has recorded five home runs and five doubles.
1B / OF Jac Caglianone – Kansas City Royals
Former two-time All-American Jac Caglianone is hitting .260 with 15 home runs and 15 doubles in his second MLB season. His .461 slugging percentage is 166 points higher than it was as a rookie, while his .782 OPS is 250 points higher than last year’s mark.
At the All-Star break, Caglianone’s power numbers ranked among the best in baseball. His average home run traveled 418 feet, matching Mickey Moniak for the longest average among players with at least 10 home runs. Caglianone also averaged 108.6 mph on his home run exit velocities, trailing only Shohei Ohtani and James Wood in that category.
INF Jonathan India – Kansas City Royals
Jonathan India is out for the season after undergoing surgery in late April. He appeared in 17 games before the injury, hitting .167 with two home runs and eight RBI.
OF Wyatt Langford – Texas Rangers
Despite battling injuries and appearing in just 44 games, Wyatt Langford is hitting .275 with nine home runs, eight doubles and two triples. He has driven in 22 runs and stolen six bases. Langford is reaching base at a .325 clip while posting career highs in slugging percentage (.494) and OPS (.819).
RHP Christian Scott – New York Mets
Christian Scott has posted a 3.17 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP across 54 innings this season with the New York Mets. He has struck out 65 batters and walked 26 across 12 starts. Scott previously missed 18 months after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
RHP Brady Singer – Cincinnati Reds
Across 18 starts with the Cincinnati Reds, Brady Singer holds a 3-9 record with a 4.72 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 89.2 innings pitched. He’s struck out 76 batters and walked 31.
RHP Brandon Sproat – Milwaukee Brewers
Opening the 2026 season as part of the Brewers’ rotation, Brandon Sproat has posted a 5.16 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP across 18 appearances, including 16 starts. He has struck out 87 batters and walked 39 across 82 innings.
RHP Hurston Waldrep – Atlanta Braves
After recently making his 2026 debut following an injury suffered in spring training, Hurston Waldrep has allowed 10 earned runs across 10.2 innings in three appearances, including two starts. He has walked 10 batters and struck out nine.
LHP Danny Young – Atlanta Braves
In five appearances including one start with the Braves, Danny Young holds a 4.50 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP in four innings pitched.
LHP Hunter Barco – Pittsburgh Pirates
Hunter Barco has appeared in five games for the Pirates this season, posting a 7.71 ERA and a 1.91 WHIP across 11.2 innings. He has struck out eight batters while walking nine.
OF Sterlin Thompson – Colorado Rockies
Making his MLB debut this season, Sterlin Thompson is hitting .232 with two home runs and 10 RBI in 69 at-bats. Thompson recorded a three-hit, multi-homer game against the Chicago Cubs on June 16. He has since been optioned to Triple-A.
OF Jacob Young – Washington Nationals
In his fourth season with the Nationals, Jacob Young is slashing .224/.275/.369 across 86 games and 268 at-bats. He has hit eight home runs, 11 doubles and two triples while driving in 31 runs, scoring 34 and stealing nine bases.
LHP Philip Abner – Arizona Diamondbacks
Abner has appeared in four games for the Diamondbacks this season, allowing seven earned runs across 7.1 innings. He has struck out four batters and walked four. He’s currently in Triple-A with the Reno Aces.
RHP Shaun Anderson – Los Angeles Angels
Currently in Triple-A, Shaun Anderson has appeared in nine games with the Los Angeles Angels this season, posting a 5.94 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP across 16.2 innings. He has struck out 12 batters and walked eight.
