DB Raheem Floyd commits to the Florida Gators over Missouri

The Florida Gators picked up a commitment on Tuesday afternoon from one of their top remaining out of state targets.

Defensive back Raheem Floyd (6-2, 170, East St. Louis, IL. High) committed to Florida over Missouri on Tuesday

Floyd was impressed by defensive backs coach Brandon Harris during his official visit.

“I feel like he’s doing a great job, I feel like he’s doing a great job coaching,” he said on what stands out about Coach Harris. “Even in the 10 minutes of Indy, how he’s detailed with the players and making them better and just how the drills translated to the game.”

One thing that stood out to Floyd during the visit was hanging out with defensive back Cormani McClain and hearing about his journey from Colorado.

“Cormani McClain the first day and then Ben Hanks the second day,” Floyd said on his player host. “They just told me it’s a great program. Cormani gave me his background, how he came from Colorado, how he transferred and then elevated himself as a player. Watching him practice it shows, he’s taking all of it in and just putting his head down and grinding.”

Floyd is the 26th commitment in the Class of 2027 for the Gators and he joins defensive backs Amare Nugent, Aamaury Fountain, Kamarui Whitfield, and Kailib Dillard in the class .
