OL Elijah Hutcheson commits to the Florida Gators over Clemson

Jon Sumrall and the Florida Gators continued their hot streak in recruiting on Tuesday when they added another top out of state target.

Offensive lineman Elijah Hutcheson (6-6, 255, Roanoke, VA. North Cross School) committed to Florida over Clemson, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech on Tuesday.

“I’m committing to the University of Florida

Hutcheson who’s considered one of the top offensive tackles in the country has known offensive line coach Phil Trautwein since his Penn State days.

Once Trautwein arrived in Gainesville this year, he quickly offered Hutcheson a scholarship and the offensive lineman visited Florida for a spring practice where he met the coaching staff.

Hutcheson is a very good tackle with good technique, but the lineman will have to put on weight once he arrives in Gainesville in order to get on the field.

Now that Hutcheson has committed, he’s the third offensive line commit in the class as he joins Maxwell Hiller and Peyton Miller in the class, Hutcheson is the first true tackle in the class.

The Gators still have several big options remaining on the offensive line board in Layton Von Brandt, Kennedee Jackson, Timi Aliu, and Reed Ramsier as Trautwain looks to finish the class strong.

Hutcheson is the 11th commit in the class of 2027 for the Gators as it could be a busy week for the Gators’ coaching staff.
