Florida Gators recruiting visitors list preview for March 27th weekend

The Florida Gators will host their first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday and the first in the Jon Sumrall era as the Gators continue to go through spring practice.

Florida will host several big name prospects on campus on Friday and Saturday as those guys will get the chance to watch the scrimmage and hang around the staff.

GatorCountry brings you a Florida Gators recruiting visitors list preview for this weekend here.

Big name offensive linemen headed to town

Phil Trautwein is known as a really good recruiter and that has shown already and this weekend, he will host several of the top players in the country at his position on campus.

The biggest name being offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller who the Gators are battling Alabama for in his recruitment. Hiller will be in town multiple days.

Another top name on the list will be offensive lineman Kennedy Brown who will make the trip in from Texas for his first trip to campus. Brown is someone that has talked highly of the Gators since Trautwein was hired.

Another Texas lineman that will be in town this weekend is offensive lineman Peyton Miller who will also be on campus for the first time. Miller tried to make Junior Day in January but the weather caused him to miss the event.

Offensive lineman Oluwasmilore Olubobola will be in town from New Jersey for his second trip as he was in town for Junior Day back in January. Olubobola has known Trautwein since his Penn State days.

Offensive lineman Reis Russell will make the long trip in from Colorado this weekend. Russell is someone that Trautwein has been recruiting since he arrived in Gainesville and Russell will be on campus for the first time.

Offensive lineman Lucas Rhoa will make the trip in from California this weekend as Rhoa will be on campus for the first time this weekend. Rhoa did visit Trautwein when he was at Penn State so they have a connection.

Top QB to visit

The Gators have had Peter Bourque and Champ Monds on campus this week but on Saturday they will play host to quarterback Davin Davidson. Davidson is considered one of the top targets for the Gators as they continue to gain momentum with the Sarasota native.

Tight end target in town for multiple days

Tight end Tommy Douglas arrived in Gainesville on Thursday and plans to be in town through Saturday. The New Jersey native is someone the Gators really like and his dad who’s former New York Jets GM Joe Douglas knows several things about the Gators. This weekend is big for both parties.

Receivers coming to town

Receiver Kyren Caldwell will make the short drive to Gainesville on Friday from Lake City as he continues to talk with the coaching staff. Caldwell really likes Florida but he has hasn’t had a lot of time around this staff yet.

Receiver Eric McFarland will make the trip up from IMG on Friday as the Gators will host him for the first time. McFarland is a big play receiver that receivers coach Marcus Davis wants badly. This weekend is a chance for UF to gain ground.

Receiver Trenton Yancey will be in town from Texas on Saturday as the Gators have some momentum with him already. Yancey likes the Gators coaching staff and this weekend will be a chance for the Gators to separate themselves from Texas and others.

Defensive prospects to visit

The defensive side of the ball will also be well represented this weekend on campus in Gainesville.

Defensive lineman Jason Johnson will make the trip over from Texas on Saturday for his first visit to town. Johnson is originally from the state of Florida so that has the Gators sitting in solid shape.

Defensive end Rion Jackson is expected to be in town from Maryland on Friday. This will be the first time for Jackson to see campus.

Defensive end Griff Calloway will be in town from North Carolina on Friday for a multi-day visit as he wants to see the coaches in person.

Linebacker Cole Crawford was last on campus last fall but this will be his first chance to meet the new coaching staff as a whole. Crawford has interest in the Gators but this weekend is a big one.

Linebacker AJ Randle really likes the Gators and Miami is also in the mix for him but this weekend is a chance for the Gators to take the lead. The North Carolina native is someone the Gators want in the class.

Notre Dame defensive back commit Ace Alston will make the trip down from Ohio on Friday. Alston is solid with the Irish but admits that he will hear out the other schools.

Florida defensive back commit Amare Nugent is expected back on campus for the first time since committing to the Gators in January.
