GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4/5 Florida softball team improved to 9-0 with a pair of wins on the first day of the Florida Classic at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Friday evening.
The Gators opened the day with a 6-3 win over Marshall, before securing a come-from-behind victory over Georgia Tech, 8-5, in the nightcap.
Jocelyn Erickson swung a hot bat, hitting a combined .714 (5-for-7) on the day, including four RBI, a double and two home runs against the Yellow Jackets.
Olivia Miller (1-0) earned the first win of her junior season in the circle, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and one walk with four strikeouts.
Ava Brown (13-0) picked up the victory in game one and the save in game two, striking out a team-high five batters on the day.
NOTABLES:
* Jocelyn Erickson has now hit two home runs in the same game three times in her career: at Mississippi State (March 29, 2024), vs. New Mexico State (Feb. 22, 2025) and now vs. Georgia Tech (Feb. 13, 2026)
* With her save tonight, Ava Brown has two saves on the season and nine in her career
* She is now in sole-possession of sixth-most saves in program history
* Keagan Rothrock earned her first save of the season and third in her career against Marshall
* In each of her three career saves, Brown has been the winning pitcher
* Her last save was at Mississippi State on March 29, 2024

* Kenleigh Cahalan hit her third home run of the season vs. Marshall, a two-run shot in the second inning

* She’s also on a team-best eight-game hitting streak

* Florida improves to 8-1 all-time against Georgia Tech and 5-0 against Marshall
* The Gators turned a pair of double plays against Marshall, their first two of the season
