Baylor defensive tackle DK Kalu pledged to the Florida Gators on Monday evening.
“Committed,” Kalu wrote in a social media post.
Kalu, a redshirt sophomore in 2025, posted 11 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss across nine games with the Bears. The 6’4, 309-pound defensive tackle has two years of eligibility remaining.
Kalu generated four pressures in 124 pass rush snaps last season. Kalu’s 281 snaps ranked 17th on Baylor’s defense and third among interior defensive lineman.
In 2024, Kalu played in three games as a reserve defensive lineman and made one start vs. Air Force.
Kalu is the son of former NFL defensive end N.D. Kalu, who played 11 seasons in the league and recorded 32 career sacks.
The Missouri City, Texas native is the second Baylor transfer to pledge to Florida this offseason as defensive back DJ Coleman announced his commitment yesterday.
Defensive tackle is a position of need for the Gators after Caleb Banks declared for the NFL Draft and Michai Boireau entered the transfer portal. Florida did strike deals to return rising sophomores Jeramiah McCloud and Joseph Mbatchou, both of which are expected to play significant roles in 2026.
Kalu will bring athleticism and depth to the Gators’ defensive front.
