On Saturday night, the Florida Gators hosted visitors on campus for their blowout win against LIU in the Swamp.
FAU defensive line commit Frederic Sainteus (6-5, 255, Naples, FL. St. John Neumann) was on campus for the win and enjoyed seeing the Gators in person.
“It was a great experience, amazing things,” Sainteus said. “I remember my sophomore year, I’ve been dreaming about this college, I’ve been watching the tapes, the defensive line stuff and everything. So yeah, getting here was amazing actually. It was a dream.”
Sainteus has been talking to the coaching staff for months now but he said meeting them in person was great because he could feel their energy.
“That’s definitely different because I can feel the vibe in person,” he said on meeting the coaching staff. “They actually show me a lot of love, amazing love. They tell me they want me and they really show me they want me. So yeah, they treat me as a friend and family not just a player. They’re very cool people.”
Next up for Sainteus will be a visit to another school trying to flip him and then he hopes to return to Gainesville later this fall.
“Next visit would be to Michigan State and I might go to Virginia,” Sainteus said on other visits. “I’m planning an official visit here [Florida] for the Tennessee game.”
When Sainteus does return to Gainesville for another visit, he’s hoping to see a lot of the same thing from the team.
“Basically, same thing, same vibe and the same energy,” he said on what he wants to see at the Tennessee game. “All the players played hard, they played strong so yeah I just want to see that again.”
After visiting Gainesville, Sainteus says the Gators stand high in his recruitment because of the energy and effort he saw from the team on Saturday.
“I feel it here, I feel at home, they’re in the top right now,” Sainteus said on what he likes about Florida. “I like how hard they work, the team is strong and I like to play hard. So yeah I feel it here.”
