The Florida Gators picked up their 18th commitment for the Class of 2026 on Saturday afternoon from an out-of-state athlete.
Tight end Heze Kent (6-6, 310, Brunswick, GA. High) committed to the Florida Gators over Miami and Texas on Saturday.
“For the next three or four years, I’ll be taking my talents to the University of Florida,” Kent said.
Kent, who’s listed as an athlete, is expected to play tight end once he gets to Gainesville, but in high school, he has played both running back and tight end.
The Georgia native who has been one of the Gators’ top targets since picking up an offer took an official visit to Gainesville in June and then visited both Miami and Texas.
As a junior Kent led his Brunswick team to a 10-2 record while rushing for 211 yards and 8 touchdowns, and he added 41 catches for 983 yards and another 8 touchdowns.
Kent joins tight end Keke Aumua as a tight end in the class, and the Gators are continuing to recruit Tennessee commit Carson Sneed as the staff looks to rebuild the tight end room.
The Gators continue their impressive run of commits as they have now picked up 16 commits since the start of June, and Kent is the fourth commit of July already.
