Florida Gators land in Conway Regional

The Florida Gators have qualified for the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament as the No.2 seed in the Coastal Carolina hosted Regional, as announced by the selection committee on Monday afternoon.

Joining No.2 seed Florida at the Conway regional are No.1 seed Coastal Carolina (48-11), No.3 seed East Carolina (33-25), and No.4 seed Fairfield (39-17). The Gators will take on East Carolina on Friday, May 30th.

Florida earned a spot in an NCAA Regional for the 40th time in program history. This is the Gators’ 17th consecutive NCAA berth under Head Coach Kevin O’Sullivan, which is the second longest streak in the country behind Vanderbilt. O’Sullivan has not missed the postseason since taking the reins in 2008.

The Gators are the first SEC team to make the NCAA Tournament after starting 2-10 or worse in league play since the conference expanded in 1991. Florida started 1-11 in league play, dropping their first four SEC series to start the 2025 campaign. The Gators turned a corner in the second half of the season, winning 19 of their last 25 games to finish with a 38-20 (15-15 SEC) record. Down the stretch, Florida took series from the No.2 and No.3 overall seeds in the NCAA Tournament, taking two of three games from Texas and Arkansas, respectively. The Gators also won a midweek series one seed FSU.

Florida is searching for their third consecutive College World Series appearance, which only Tennessee, Virginia, and Florida can accomplish in 2025.

Shall Florida win the Conway Regional, the Gators would take on the winner of the Auburn Regional in the Super Regionals, which includes Auburn, Stetson, NC State, and Central Connecticut State.
