Five Gators Earn All-SEC Honors

The Southeastern Conference released their 2025 All-SEC Baseball Team on Monday afternoon, as voted by the league’s 16 head coaches. Five Gators earned recognition.

Catcher Luke Heyman: All-SEC First Team

Junior catcher Luke Heyman was Florida’s lone member to make All-SEC First Team. Playing in 49 games, the Longwood, Fla. native batted .301/.397/.578 backed by 13 homers, one triple, seven doubles, 44 RBI and 37 runs scored. Heyman slashed an even better .317/.403/.673 in 28 SEC contests, ranking fifth in the league in slugging, sixth in home runs (10), 10th in RBI (28) and 12th in total bases (70). The UF backstop was also much improved behind the plate, finishing with a .998 fielding percentage on top of leading the SEC in chances and putouts. Heyman’s 11 runners caught stealing was good for third in the conference.

RP Jake Clemente: All-SEC Second Team

Florida’s closer Jake Clemente was one of three relief pitchers honored on the All-SEC Second Team. Clemente struggled in the starter role to begin the season and later moved to the closer role when Florida was 1-11 in conference play. Across 22 games in Florida’s 17-5 finish to the regular season, the hard throwing right hander logged a 0.86 ERA, seven saves, .160 batting average against and 35-to-10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 21 innings across nine appearances. Clemente bow carries a 3.51 ERA, .176 BAA and 73-to-25 K-to-BB ratio heading into the SEC Tournament.

RHP Aidan King: Freshman All-SEC

Aidan King secured a spot on the Freshman All-SEC Team after posting a 6-2 record, 2.76 ERA, .220 BAA and 72-to-21 K-to-BB ratio over 65 1/3 frames. King made 16 appearances during the regular season with 11 starts. King racked up a program record four SEC weekly honors his first collegiate campaign. The last SEC player to accomplish the feat was South Carolina’s Ethan Petry in 2023. King was named SEC Freshman of the Week three times and SEC Pitcher of the Week once. The Jacksonville, Florida native holds the 35th lowest ERA in all of College Baseball and as of last weekend held the lowest ERA among freshman starting pitchers in the country.

INF Brendan Lawson: Freshman All-SEC

Infielder Brendan Lawson was also included on the Freshman All-SEC Team, batting .305 with nine home runs, 12 doubles, and 55 runs batted in, which ranks second on the Gators this season. Florida has asked a lot of Lawson this year, logging starts at third base, second base, and first base throughout his rookie campaign while hitting in the middle of the Gators order. Lawson hit three grand slams in his first year at UF.

INF Bobby Boser: SEC All-Defensive Team

Boser’s All-SEC Defensive Team nod at third base comes in his first and only year in the conference. Starting 44 of his team-high 56 games played at the hot corner, Boser made just two errors across 86 chances at third base for a .977 fielding percentage. Boser also slashed .327/.429/.590 with a team-high 71 hits, 65 runs, 58 RBI and 18 steals. Boser also launched 15 home runs in his senior campaigning, one big fly short of the team high (Brody Donay).
