Guervil says the Florida Gators moved up in his recruitment

The Florida Gators concluded a busy spring season on Saturday when they hosted the spring game, and they were able to host dozens of recruits on campus for the game.

Defensive lineman Kendall Guervil (6-5, 310, Fort Myers, FL. High) was on campus and liked how the Gators looked during the game.

“It was great, the offense really did their thing today,” Guervil said of his visit to UF on Saturday. “You know, just executing perfectly, seeing the defensive line, you know, as always, executing perfectly, and you know, doing their stuff out there. I saw a couple of plays that caught my eye.”

Guervil watched the defensive line closely during the game, and several guys stood out to him, including two returning starters.

“I know they have a couple of freshmen, I forgot their names,” he said on who stood out to him on the defensive line. “Definitely like #88 [Caleb Banks] and #94 [Tyreak Sapp] really caught my attention. The edge rusher, he was a really good guy.”

After the game was over, Guervil had the chance to meet with the coaching staff as they continue to build a relationship.

“It was good, fun day today [Saturday],” Guervil said of meeting with the coaches. “As always when I come up here, I always have a good time with them as much as I can before I head back to my hometown. Obviously, it was a good day with them.”

Guervil has been to Gainesville several times already but he says the family vibe he gets at Florida is what keeps him coming back.

“Even though I’ve seen everything already, it’s just like the culture here,” he said on what keeps him coming back to Florida. “You know, the family, the family rides, I have Coach [Jeremy] Patterson, Coach [Gerald] Chatman and my tour guide Mason. Basically, everyone here, you know, it’s just nice.”

Next up for Guervil will be official visits as the defensive lineman has several already planned for this summer.

“I actually flipped a couple [of visits],” Guervil said of visits. “I had Bama for May 30th but now I have FSU and I still have Florida instead of USC and I’m going up to Texas and June 6th, I’m going to Georgia.”

Heading into the visit, Guervil had the Gators as his number three school but he says Florida made a move for him.

“Georgia is number 1 and I think UF would be number two,” he said of leaders. “[Florida] is definitely here with Texas and Georgia.”
