The Florida Gators landed a huge commitment from the Class of 2025 on Sunday when an instate prospect flipped to the Gators.
Receiver Dallas Wilson flipped his commitment from Oregon to Florida on Sunday after taking an official visit to Gainesville this past weekend.
Wilson who signed with Oregon earlier this month was released from that agreement last week after Wilson had a change of heart.
The Tampa native has a family member who’s dealing with some healthy issues and that desire to be closer to home was big for Wilson.
Wilson also liked the way that head coach Billy Napier and receiver coach Billy Gonzales plan to use him once he gets to Gainesville.
“Coach Napier and Billy G were telling me about [Elijah] Badger,” Wilson said of Badger’s play. “They said that’s what they need at X position and that I can come in and be that same guy. He compared me to Julio Jones and Amari Cooper and other great receivers he has coached over the year.”
Now that Wilson has signed with the Gators, he will enroll in Gainesville next month and go through spring practice with the Gators.
The Gators now have a talented receiver room as Wilson joins, Vernell Brown III and Naeshaun Montgomery in the Class of 2025, plus they landed a transfer in J. Michael Sturdivant earlier this week.
