The Florida Gators hosted their annual Grill in the Ville cookout event on Saturday and several top targets were on campus.
Linebacker Ty Jackson (6-1, 200, Loxahatchee, FL. Seminole Ridge) was on campus on Saturday and enjoyed the laid-back visit he had with the staff.
“It was good, it was mainly a family-oriented day, just getting all of the potential recruits back on campus,” Jackson said of his visit to Florida on Saturday. “Just having games and getting close to the coaches and the other players.”
Jackson was able to see a different side of the coaches while on the visit and it was something that stood out to him.
“It’s good, you get to see another side of them,” he said on the relaxed environment with the coaches. “You get to see how they’re off the field, getting to see both sides of them was the good part.”
Defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong has been the main recruiter for Jackson, and they spent the most time together on Saturday.
“Coach [Austin] Armstrong was my partner for the scavenger hunt,” Jackson said on the coaches he spent the most time with. “It’s definitely big to me, the DC taking time out of his day to reach out to me and trying to just check in with me.”
Jackson has been to Gainesville several times already and he says a few things are standing out about Florida.
“Being close to home is always one thing,” he said on what stands out about Florida. “Getting back on campus a lot is a good thing too and the people are great. The goal is to get back here for the Miami game.”
The linebacker doesn’t want to announce a decision until December but he does know a few schools he will visit this fall.
“I’m trying to narrow it down now,” Jackson said of where he is in his recruitment. “I’m going to visit Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida State. Penn State too. I might cut down my list again in August or the month after that.”
