Florida Gators official visitors preview May 31st weekend

The Florida Gators will welcome 14 official visitors to campus on Friday to kick off the summer portion of official visits.

Billy Napier and his staff will have two of its commits on campus to help recruit the targets this weekend as well.

GatorCountry brings you a Florida Gators visitors list preview for this weekend’s official visits.

Florida going for the flip

Florida State defensive end commit Javion Hilson will be on campus this weekend and the Gators are looking to gain ground on the defensive lineman. Hilson has kept the communication open with the Gators despite his commitment to Florida State.

Top defensive targets to visit

Joining Hilson this weekend will be several other top defensive targets including defensive lineman Myron Charles who is another guy that the Gators are battling Florida State for. FSU has the lead for Charles, but the Gators have been able to get Charles on campus a lot and this weekend is another chance to chip away at the Noles.

Another defensive lineman will be on campus this weekend when defensive lineman Jarquez Carter makes the short trip to campus. Carter has a lot of interest in the Gators and may even be the leader heading into visits, but Carter wants to take his visits before deciding. I expect Florida to try and push a decision date if everything goes well.

Defensive back Kaylib Singleton is someone that the Gators are in great shape for as his relationship with Will Harris is great. Singleton is someone to watch closely this weekend after his visit.

Linebacker Christian Gass will make his way down to Gainesville on Friday from Georgia. Gass is a top linebacker and he has a great relationship with the Florida staff. Gass has mentioned making a decision in July and the Gators and Tennessee are in the mix here.

Defensive back Jaylan Morgan will make the trip down from Tennessee on Friday after he visited Gainesville this spring. Morgan also has strong interest in Georgia and Mississippi State but the Gators get the first shot at the Tennessee native this weekend.

Offensive targets to visit

Headlining the targets on offense will be quarterback Antwann Hill as the Gators are looking for this quarterback in the class. Memphis is the team to watch the most with Hill as they’re recruiting him the hardest. Florida will look to change things with Hill this weekend.

Receiver Naeshaun Montgomery is one of the top targets at receiver for Billy Gonzales and the Gators have done a great job in his recruitment. Montgomery visits Miami and Penn State next.

Receiver Joshua Moore is a guy that Billy Gonzales is working hard on as the Gators like his size and athletic ability. Moore likes FSU and Miami a lot and Georgia is also in the mix.

Tight end Tae’shaun Gelsey picked up an offer from Florida recently and the Gators jumped to the top of his recruitment after that offer. Gelsey is a guy that the Gators like a lot at tight end.

Tight end Micah Jones is one of the biggest targets for Russ Callaway at the tight end position and the Mississippi native has been to Gainesville several times. Florida is in good shape for Jones heading into visits.

Offensive lineman Ziyare Addison was on campus in Gainesville twice during the spring and enjoyed the spring game. Addison has been building a great relationship with the Gators staff and they’re the team with the most buzz in Addison’s recruitment.

Commits coming to town

Running back commit Chad Gasper will make the trip from Texas on Friday as this will be his first trip to town since committing. Gasper has said he’s solid with Florida.

Defensive line commit Jeramiah McCloud flipped from Mississippi State to Florida and is now solid with the Gators. McCloud plans to recruit for the Gators during the visit.
