The Florida Gators haven’t picked up a commitment in over a month but that ended on Saturday when the Gators picked up an out-of-state commitment.
Defensive lineman Michai Boireau (6-5, 390, Hampton, GA. Creekside) committed to Florida on Saturday after he was committed to Florida and decommitted earlier this year.
“I will be committing to the University of Florida, Go Gators,” Boireau tweeted. “PS: Gator Nation I’m back my bad for leaving. I want y’all to know I’m back for good!!!”
Boireau has visited Gainesville twice since he decommitted and the first time back showed him that the Gators were still a team he liked.
“Coming back, I thought it was kind of going to be awkward, but it wasn’t awkward at all,” he said on coming back to Gainesville. “It was actually like I never left. Everybody was excited to see me, and I was excited to see them. Everything felt like I just never left.”
Even when Boireau left the class, the Gators never quit recruiting him and made sure to let him know that he was still wanted in Gainesville.
“Unlike other schools their message like from schools when I committed and then decommitted, it has been that they still love me and they aren’t going anywhere in this recruiting process,” Boireau said on the message from Florida. “They say I always have a home here. It’s always love.”
With Boireau rejoining the class, the Gators now have 20 commits in the class and he joins LJ McCray, Amaris Williams, and Kendall Jackson as members of the defensive line class.
